NUMBERS 10-20

Is there a difference between 60 and 16?  Yes, a very big difference if that is the number of guests coming for dinner.  And if you heard the number spoken over the phone, and now you need to make the preparations, you will want to know you heard the exact right number before you begin.  Listen, listen, listen to numbers.  They are too important to leave it to guess work later on.

IS THE UMBRELLA WET?

Learning to use adjectives is one of the many ways language become fun and exciting.  Small kids don’t need to understand the grammar behind the sentence pattern to have fun making sentences.  But the adjective must be learned in a sentence pattern to be usable. In time, the child realizes 10 simple sentences can become thousand of ideas of the own making.  That happens naturally as long as they learn the basics well.

WHERE IS THE TIGER?

All kids like animals.  And the first question they want to ask is, “Where is the ….tiger?”  So this lesson is at BIG Lego Zoo.  Where animals make sounds and move around.  This is one of the early lessons in our program.  And seems to be a big hit with all ages.

COLORS AND SHAPES

Colors and shapes are a great place to start learning words and pronunciation in any language.  But these shapes move and these colors seem to play games.  Have fun listening, watching and repeating each of the new words.  Learn colors and shapes together as a family.

ABCs CAPITAL LETTERS A-Z

There is no better place to start learning English than with the ABCs in big letters.  But this lesson is more than just memorizing.  Every letter moves and seems to come alive.  Make it a game and say the sounds and letters and words together with the DVD.  And be sure to print out the full page sheet and worksheets that go with this lesson to learn or teach this lesson in many ways.  EnglishPro.org

It is time to get dressed.  Or it is time to eat dinner.  There are so many everyday sentences everyone needs to know.  Have fun.  Make it a game and learn English the natural way.

INSIDE THE BOX

Inside the box is the just the beginning of telling where something is.  Inside, outside, beside, behind are all little words that give directions and tell us where something is.   This is an important lesson to learn.  And be sure to check out the worksheets and the followup lessons.  Before you are though, you’ll be able to learn many many more prepositions.

YOUR BODY

How fun it is to learn how to say many of the parts of the body, with a small child.  Just the way they say it is so cute.  This is fun to watch and a great way to learn.  And follow up with downloadable worksheets at home or in the class room.

WHEN DO YOU PLAY BASKETBALL?

When do you play basketball? When do you play soccer, or Ping Pong, or any other sport or instrument? This is an important question to learn and understand.  With this 3D animation is it fun and easy to learn.  Be sure to check the many worksheets that are used with the this lesson, to help students begin to both read and write as well and understand and speak foundational sentences.

WHICH BLOCK DO YOU WANT?

Which block do you want?  Which car do you want?  Which shirt do you want?  This is a majorly important question to start with, and from it build into questions using want, like, have…And it goes into everyday conversation.  Again, this should be fun. Which block do you want, can become an actual game.  See our games and tools and how we actually do what the video is showing.

WHAT IS THE BOY DOING?

What is the boy doing? – Is one of our most important lessons to learn 100%.   From this basic sentence we can change verbs and nouns and quickly make thousands of everyday sentences.  NOt only do I have all my kids watch, repeat, memorize the sentences with the pictures, I use many games to practice using these sentences over and over.  One favorite way to practice is to toss a ball back and forth while repeating or remembering the sentences we have learned.  Using actual body movement is so important in language learning.

NUMBERS 10-100

Numbers are very important.  We have several lessons on numbers for this reason.  Kids need to be able to count, and recognize and hear and understand numbers.  40 and 14 are similar but not the same. Even after they know their numbers, continue to practice in many different ways.

ARE YOU A MAILMAN?

Are you a mailman, or a waiter, or a cook?  We all want to ask questions about people.  And soon we will ask, “Are you happy, are you cold, are you hungry?”.  This one sentence becomes part of everyday life.  this lesson is not only important, it is fun.  Lego men that move and talk.  How cool in that? This video was literally made one step at a time.

AT THE ZOO

At the Zoo- Is made for all ages and sets the stage for how we learn English.  Everyone loves animals and everyone likes going to the zoo.  So that is where we want to learn English.  Not from a text book, but at the zoo. “What do you see at the zoo?” – is the main question being asked.  And the answers are unlimited.  Be sure to check out the worksheets and flashcard for this lesson.  This becomes the foundation for all future lessons as well as learning to read and write later on in the program.

DO YOU WANT A BOX?

Do you want a box?  Do you like the plane?  Do you see the light? Do you have a cane?  This is a fun musical, rhyming style lesson that allows parents, kids, and teachers to have some fun and learn a very important lesson.  Don’t be surprised if it is harder to remember that you expected.  There are so many words introduced that it takes time and repetition to make the brain spaces to remember this whole lesson.  But once they get it.  They will have it for life.

abc SMALL LETTERS

https://youtu.be/F30xY4l0sEw

Every English program starts with the big ABCs.   But the small abcs are close behind.  I do not recommend learning them together.  Take one step, learn it well.  Take the next step adding on to the first and learn it well.  Lessons like Big ABCs and small abcs are similar, so together they add confusion, until the foundation in prepared.  This principle is for all language learning.  Systematic with a thoughtful long term plan, is so much better than random language learning.

THE TRAIN IS ON THE TRACK

Have fun watching and listening to the Train is On the Track.  This is the first lesson we use prepositions.  This is mostly to listen and the hear the sentences.  We will be breaking it down and learning all the part of using prepositions later on.

CAN YOU RIDE A BIKE?

Can you ride a bike, introduces the ” can you” sentence.  This is a fun one to play with.  After the kids learn the sentences, play musical chairs.  “Can you ride a bike?”  Most kids think they can, so they need to move to another chair.  The last person to not sit down, says the next sentence.  Be sure to use the flashcards and worksheets being provided.

UNDER – OVER

The man goes under and over and in the process we learn how to use a helpful pair of words.  Prepositions are a huge part of the English language.  But it is too big to learn in one chunk.  we break it down and introduce then a little and first and later a whole bunch.  We never want our kids to get overwhelmed or fail.  We systematically lead them to success to more success.

DO YOU PLAY MUSIC?

“Do you play music?” and “When do yo play basketball?” are a set of lessons that be continue to be foundational.  The possibilities to build thousands of sentences from these two starting sentences are endless.  Never skip over the begin part of language learning.  Never teach grammar and writing before a basic understand in hearing and speaking is established.  This is fun to watch for all ages.  Remember to use the downloads to help you in the learning process.

GETTING DRESSED

Everyday life has everyday situation to talk about.   Getting dress is one thing we all do everyday, and there are a lot of words and a few important sentences to learn here.

AT THE POOL

At the pool is a great place the learn the sentence, “Do you like playing at the pool? This simple sentence has three important part, all of which can change to become thousands of sentences.  I say, “jumping”, “Do you like jumping?”, “Do you like jumping at the pool?”  The kids think I am playing a game.  They can guess the last part from the beginning.  Actually I am preparing them to build thousands of sentences on their own in the future.
